Steven C. Bush
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer

Steve Bush was elected as Apple Bank's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer effective April 1. 2016, succeeding Alan Shamoon upon his retirement. Steve previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Apple Bank, with oversight for the bank's lending units, as well as financial, risk management, planning and operating functions. Steve joined Apple Bank in 1992 from Chemical Bank, where he was a Vice President in the Asset and Liability Management and Finance Divisions. Steve holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA from the University of Cincinnati.

Jeffrey L. Herbert 
Senior Vice President and General Counsel 

Jeff joined Apple Bank as General Counsel in August 2018, upon Bruce Herman's retirement. He is responsible for overseeing the bank's legal affairs. Prior to joining Apple Bank, Jeff served as Director and Associate General Counsel at Deutsche Bank Ag, where he was Deputy Head of US Bank Regulatory Legal. Previously, Jeff was a member of the legal team at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, and also worked as an attorney for the FDIC. Jeff received his BS Degree from the University of Delaware, his JD from Rutgers University and his Masters of Law in Banking and Finance from Boston University. 

Douglas L. Van Horne
Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer

Doug oversees Apple Bank’s investment programs, which comprise most of its asset base. Doug joined Apple Bank in 1992 from Chemical Bank, where he worked as a Vice President in the Mortgage and Asset-Backed Securities Group. He previously worked for Citibank Industrial Credit in the lease financing business, and for GE Credit in the Marine Finance unit. Doug holds MBA and BBA degrees from Southern Methodist University.

Dana R. MacKinnon
Senior Vice President, Export Credit and Specialty Finance

Dana originates and executes export credit agency financings for commercial and business aviation, as well as syndicated financings for general aviation and aviation-related sectors. In addition, Dana originates and executes structured finance and trade finance transactions for general aviation and other sectors. His responsibilities include management of the Bank's export credit agency, private credit and trade finance portfolio. Prior to joining Apple Bank, Dana’s previous experience was the origination and execution of aircraft, commodity and general corporate finance lending for several Asian global financial institutions with operations in New York. His responsibilities in addition to origination and execution of financing transactions was supervision of credit analysis and credit review of institutional credit portfolios at these institutions. Dana holds a MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a MA degree from St. Michael’s College and a BA degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
